Three Life Lessons I learned while hosting Jamie Kern Lima

This message is for all of you who question if you are worthy and deal with self-doubt.

Last week, I had the extraordinary opportunity to host Jamie Kern Lima (2x’s NY Times Best Selling Author and the Co-Founder of IT Cosmetics) at the Maxwell International Conference. It was a dream come true, and the insights I gained from spending time with her were invaluable. Allow me to share three key lessons that I believe can inspire and empower others on their journey:

1. Authenticity is Key: One of the most striking aspects of Jamie Kern Lima is her authenticity. What you see on social media or in her public appearances is genuinely who she is. Throughout our day together, Jamie exemplified authenticity in every interaction. Despite her fame and success, she remained grounded and treated everyone with genuine warmth and kindness. She took the time to connect personally, signing books, sharing stories, and giving out hugs.

Lesson: It's a reminder that staying true to oneself and leading with an open heart can have a profound impact on others.

2. Breaking Barriers: Jamie's achievement as the first female CEO in L'Oreal's century-long history is nothing short of remarkable. Her journey challenges stereotypes and underscores the importance of breaking barriers and turning self-doubt into self-worth. After almost going bankrupt and losing everything, Jamie sold IT Cosmetics to L’Oreal for $1.2 Billion (with a B) and became the FIRST woman to serve as CEO for a L’Oreal brand (talk about giving me goosebumps).

Lesson: It serves as a powerful reminder that with determination, resilience, and unwavering belief in oneself, any ceiling can be shattered. Jamie's success paves the way for future generations of women leaders, inspiring them to pursue their dreams fearlessly and listen to their own inner voice when critics tell them they'll never make it.

3. Embracing Rejection: Despite facing years of rejection in her pursuit of building her own company, Jamie holds on to the belief that "rejection is God's protection." This perspective is a testament to her resilience and faith in the face of adversity. Instead of allowing rejection to deter her, Jamie used it as a catalyst for growth and self-discovery. Her journey reminds us that setbacks are not roadblocks but rather steppingstones toward our ultimate destination.

Lesson: Each rejection is an opportunity to learn, evolve, and ultimately succeed on our own terms.

I'm thrilled to share a glimpse of our day with Jamie through a video clip, offering a behind-the-scenes look at her remarkable journey and the wisdom she shared. Let's embrace authenticity, break barriers, and view rejection as a guiding force on our path to greatness.

If you have not picked up or downloaded Jamie’s brand new book “WORTHY” I am highly recommending you get it. It has been sold out in most places but you can order your copy here.

This day left me feeling so empowered as an entrepreneur and I hope these tips remind you that you are enough and that God has created you on purpose for a purpose.

With love,
